Feature Announcement
As businesses make large number of calls in order to convert their leads into customers, their telephone numbers may be flagged by telephone operators who may not do well differentiating between legitimate and illegitimate calls and hence rely mostly on things like call volume and frequency. Under these circumstances, businesses often opt to replace their numbers in order to maintain the ability to reach their leads and customers. However, this process can be tedious when done manually, and the inherent delay has the potential to affect the business negatively.
ChaseData now offers an easy and automatic method of identifying when a number is flagged, “cool down” the number, and replace it as needed: the Clean Caller ID feature. Any number (DID) used as Caller ID for outbound calls, that has Spam Check enabled, is now automatically checked for reputation.
If a reputation check results on an indication that the number is flagged, the number enters a Cool Down Period (30 days). When this occurs, a new number is also provisioned to replace the flagged DID; keep in mind that this action results in the DID inventory to increase by one.
After the Cool Down Period, the flagged number transitions to a Preserved DID Bank, where it is available, under certain conditions, as a replacement number if another number is determined to be flagged (instead of provisioning yet another number, per previous paragraph).
NOTE: Any and all new DIDs provisioned are billed in addition to the original set of DIDs contracted. Please consult your sales representative for details.
Let’s look at this process in more detail.
The following diagram represents possible transitions performed by the Clean Caller ID feature on a DID number (Caller ID) that has Spam Check enabled.
The following diagram provides a conceptual view of how a DID number is processed by the Clean Caller ID feature.
Let’s take a closer look at the decision making points, marked W, X, Y, and Z in the previous diagram.
W : A DID number will only go through this process if Spam Check is enabled for this number. Enablement is performed in the My CallerID section of the Administration portal. Refer to the following picture.
X : The number (DID) is processed to determine its reputation status; if it is determined that the number is flagged, the Clean Caller ID process proceeds with its swap.
Y : Before provisioning a new DID, a check is first made in the Preserved DID Bank to see if there is a number that has previously gone through the Cool Down Period and is already available, to use it instead; the numbers must match the area code in order to be considered.
Z : When the number has been in the Cool Down Period for the defined amount of time (30 days) it is transferred to the Preserved DID Bank, making it available for swaps with future flagged numbers.
Once again, all new DID numbers provisioned by this process are billed in addition to the original contracted allotment of DIDs.
